About Bikepack Outpost

Bikepack Outpost exists for one reason: there's a lot of bikepacking content on the internet, and most of it is either sponsored fluff or so opinionated it's useless if you ride a different bike, in a different region, on a different budget.

We write for the rider who's trying to figure out whether the $180 bag is actually worth twice what the $90 bag costs — without making you read three thousand words about someone's spiritual journey through Patagonia first.

How we cover gear

Every gear recommendation here is based on a mix of: hands-on testing where possible, direct comparison against alternatives at the same price, and synthesizing the consensus from long-form rider reviews on community forums and the major bikepacking publications. If we haven't personally ridden with something, we'll say so.
